About the business
QuizFinder is my own project: a directory of pub trivia and quiz nights in every state and territory, so you can find a quiz night near you on any night of the week.
What I did
A directory like this is only useful if it’s accurate, so most of the work is behind the scenes:
- A massive, searchable database of quiz nights, filterable by day and location.
- Custom plugins and code written to gather quiz night data from lots of different sources.
- Automatic updates from Google, pulling in up-to-date venue information to keep listings accurate and fill in the details.
- A monitoring plugin that shows which quiz nights have stopped, started or changed, so the directory doesn’t fill up with stale listings.
